The Gernika estuary, Cabo de Ogoño, and Izaro Island are true wildlife and landscape havens, offering along with the numerous beaches an attractive environment for adventure sports and maritime activities such as hiking, climbing, mountain biking, horse riding, scuba diving, surfing, sailing, kayaking, boat trips, and more. Other attractions in the area include the Santimamiñe Cave, the Enchanted Forest of Oma, and the hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, as well as traditional fishing villages like Elantxobe and Bermeo.
