Description

Linear route of approx. 28km (Outbound), low difficulty starting in Traslaviña and finishing in Gallarta. The Green Belt of the Iron Mountains is an old railway track layout, starting at Translaviña train station. The trail crosses gentle slopes and large bends making the route comfortable and easy. Along the green belt we find natural spaces, cultural enclaves and population hubs. The gentle railway track layout lets you walk it without any great physical effort so you can do it yourself following the signs/a map.

From Translaviña car park to Gallarta

Suitable for people with reduced mobility (PRM)

A fairly accessible section with slopes at three specific points; however, the trail can be started from any of several districts of Las Encartaciones. Imposing views of the sea and beautiful valleys alternating Atlantic forests with pine and eucalyptus tree plantations.

  • Km 8: In the surroundings of the Sopuerta quarry, there is a small stretch with a significant slope.
  • Km 16: In the recreational area of La Aceña there is an uphill slope with a steep gradient, and the temporary closure of a tunnel means the layout has been provisionally diverted along a dirt track.
