Description

Fishing harbour dating back to 1912 and which was one of the most important along the Basque coast. At certain times of the day, you can see the boats unloading their catch, as the fish auction house of the  fishermen's guild is located there. There are also beautiful views out to sea.

From the car park to the statue of Our Lady of El Carmen

Suitable for people with reduced mobility (PRM)

You can start route from the car park or the railway crossroads, from where a flat and level path runs along the fishing port's sea wall where you can enjoy the views of the port, shipyard and out to sea.
There is a large building, which is home to a tourist office, the traditional restaurant of the Fishermen's Guild, the fish auction room and a Maritime History Interpretation Centre (Santurtzi Itsoa Museoa) at the start of the route.
