Description

The picturesque port of Elantxobe along the Basque coast, is sheltered on the eastern side of  the rugged Cape Ogoño. 
 
It still operates as a fishing port, although it also used by a considerable number recreational craft. 
 
The town of Elantxobe clings to the hillside overlooking the sea. Its steep cobbled streets are worth a visit. (Turismo Euskadi.eus)

How to get here

By bus (Bizkaibus); 
  • A3513 (Bilbao-Hospital Galdakao-Gernika-Lekeitio) 
  • A3513 (Lekeitio-Gernika-Hospital Galdakao-Bilbo)
  • A3526 (Gernika-Laida-Laga-Ibarrangelu)

By car: 
From Bilbao and San Sebastián, take the A-8 highway to Amorebieta-Etxano, and then continue along the BI-635 to Gernika-Lumo before then taking the BI-2238; finally, continue along the BI-3237; From Vitoria, take the N-622 road, joining the AP-68 to Exit 1 and then take the A-8 to Amorebieta-Etxano, and follow the same route.

Section 1

From the car park to the Port of Elantxobe

Suitable for people with reduced mobility (PRM)

Section of asphalt and cobblestones from the port parking lot to the breakwaters. It is possible, with caution, to walk in a wheelchair on the four breakwaters; there are no handrails on both sides of the breakwaters. 
The highest areas cannot be accessed because there are no access ramps, there are only stairs.
